Welcome to Smartbody Movement,
where experienced, individualized instruction is given with care.

The human body is designed to move and breathe deeply on a daily basis. When we don’t give our body the activity it needs, our muscles stiffen, our frames become heavy, depression and illness can set in. But we have the power to reverse these trends and create strong, lean bodies and balanced, relaxed minds. At Smartbody Movement, we aim to help you do this by getting you back into your body.

The center and its instructors promote the Pilates Method, GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, and Yoga as a means towards body conditioning and the health benefits that come with achieving more integrated movement. Students at all fitness levels are welcome, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, or someone who seeks post-rehabilitative care.

When you first visit our studio, you will receive an in-depth assessment that will allow us to create a specialized workout plan that addresses your specific:
- posture and body type
- preexisting conditions, if any
- lifestyle
- health goals
- budget


You may attend one-on-one or group sessions in Pilates, GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, and Yoga. Our classes never contain more than six students, which allows our instructors to work closely with each person in the class. All of our teachers have more than ten years of experience in their fields.

Because we are so closely involved with the development of your wellness plan, we can help you to alter your routine at any time to accommodate your increased fitness level or other changes that may occur in your life. This dynamic approach means that you will never plateau, but will continually push yourself to achieve maximum wellness.

Committing to regular Pilates, GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, and Yoga lessons will physically and mentally prepare you and your body to:

- stand and move better through the skeletal system

Smartbody Movement was founded in 2003 by Iwalani Kaluhiokalani, a Pre-Trainer in GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®, and Pilates instructor since 1998.
