Intro to Gyrokinesis®

For beginners. All levels welcome.

This class introduces the Gyrokinesis principles in a flow format. Sitting on a stool or lying on a mat, students work on balance and engagement in coordination with the breath.

Gyrokinesis® On the Mat

Intermediate. Suggested Prerequisite: 2 x Intro to Gyrokinesis Classes.

This class uses fluid movement sequences to open the pathways of the body, find more articulation through the spine and joints and increase functional strength with seated stool work and mat work.

Intro to Gyrotonic®

For beginners. All levels welcome.

In the class, students are introduced to the Gyrotonic Methodology using the Ultima tower and bench equipment. Students learn about the function and benefits of the equipment and master the introductory exercises with focus on the legs, spinal coordination and shoulders.

Gyrotonic® Equipment Class

Intermediate. Suggested Prerequisite: 4 x Intro to Gyrotonic Classes.

This class builds on the starter sequences as students learn to engage deeply with the work and access dormant muscles through dynamic movement. Students will practice Level 1 and Level 2 exercises as a whole body workout.

 

Intro to Pilates

For beginners. All levels welcome.

This class is conducted lying on the mat with a progression to standing, using gentle weights, the small Pilates apparatus (magic circle, spine corrector, or small barrels), wall work and resistance to aid in core connection and alignment. Students learn pre-pilates training in a traditional format.

Pilates on the Mat

Intermediate. Suggested Prerequisite: 2 x Intro to Pilates Classes.

Classical mat work with small apparatus and or wall work. 

Pilates Circuit

Intermediate. Suggested Prerequisite: 2 x Intro to Pilates Classes.

The pilates circuit format offers students a distinct approach to the classical pilates system separated into two 25 minute sequences split between mat repertoire and apparatus repertoire (the reformer, the tower unit, or Wunda chair)

Functional Strength and Balance Training

Intermediate. Suggested Prerequisite: 2 x Intro to Pilates Classes.

Pilates principles and cueing with the addition of traditional weights. 

Mixed Equipment 

Intermediate. Previous experience with Pilates and Gyrotonic required.

This class takes students on a tour of the studio as they make their way through a multitude of exercises on the equipment.

Seasoned Beginners

Beginner to Intermediate. All Levels welcome.

This class offers a deep focus on balance through gentle strength and toning exercises. Students will move at a soft pace, using pilates apparatuses and light weights to build muscle engagement.
